Goodness my paws are cold. We came back from the field and I took ages to get warm. Mum rubbed me all over with my special towel but it didn’t help much. I don’t think she realises how hard it is for me to walk on the grass when it’s all frosty. My bottom gets very cold, especially when I sit and wait outside the shop.
We went to visit Mum’s friends at Offley which made a nice change. They have special dog biscuits and a nice big garden for me to play in. It can be a bit boring for me as they sit around talking but it got quite lively when I had a little accident on their carpet. They were very kind and didn’t shout at me. I don’t think it was my fault; I think it must be the cold weather that’s to blame!
Mum put my coat on which does keep my tummy warm but I can’t run very fast in it. I saw a dog outside the shop who had a coat that looked like my blanket, which I thought a bit strange but he seemed quite happy in it; at least it wasn’t tight like my one. I’ve never really taken much notice of what other dogs are wearing but I must admit I wouldn’t mind a slightly bigger coat, maybe in a different colour, with a hood to cover my ears. I hope the weather gets warmer soon and then I won’t have to worry about wearing a coat!
