Five go running up in Norwich |

Five Stevenage and North Herts AC youngsters represented Hertfordshire at the UK Athletics Sportshall Regional Championships.
They brought home a gold and four silver medals between them from Norwich Sports Centre on Saturday. The counties competing were Beds, Cambs, Essex, Herts, Norfolk and Suffolk. Four girls competed in the under-13 age group (school Years Eight and Nine). They were led by a personal best high jump performance from Janet Browne when she cleared 1.51m to collect the gold medal. Close on her heels, in second place for the silver medal, clearing 1.45m was Alice Rackham. Joining in the medal collecting was Alex Gates, who won two silvers, jumping a personal best of 6.36m in the standing triple jump and clocking 1:21.1 in the arduous six-lap race for two well-deserved second places. |
