m_696b4f85b6dc4604babbebbd2a7e4740.jpg "Image") Local Hitchin band Shotgun Sinners gave me a copy of their new CD and I’m very glad they did. First track on the CD is (Ready Set Play) this opens up with a Biffy Clyro style guitar sound but goes somewhere completely different. It’s got to be one off the catchiest choruses I’ve heard for a while, really garage band sounding which is good not bad. Next track up (Orange) again catchy, moves along at a very cool pace (in the strokes style).
Watch Out) starts with a great guitar sound, then moves on to a bit of (just a bit of) a dance beat. The simple guitar riff works really well. Sometimes bands try to complicate things too much. I’m glad to say this is not the case here. Great tune. (If I Wanted a Made up Story) ends the CD the same way we came in. Really catchy tune. I’m sure if they can keep the band together (being only 15 which is amazing if you hear the quality of the songs) they will grow in to something pretty amazing.
