Amanda Thompson owns St Ippolyts Stores. www.stippolytsstores.co.uk
Q1 What’s your connection to St Ippolyts? My family have been in the village for five generations and I have lived here most of my life. Q2 How long have you run the post office stores in St Ippolyts? I bought the post office stores in January 2007, so I have been 18 months now. Q3 What does this closure mean to the villagers? I think the proposed closure would have a dreadful impact on the village, especially for our elderly, disabled and venerable people .The post office is also used by our neighbours in Preston, Langley and Wymondley. It will be a sad day for all concerned if the proposed closure goes ahead. Q4 What would the closure mean to you? It’s difficult to think about that right now, as I am trying to stay focused and positives on a successful outcome, but I think it would be difficult to keep the shop open without the post office. Q5 What is your hopes for the coming months? My hopes are that our village post office stays open, which would give a real good factor to everyone who has taken their time to write, e0mail and support the campaign. My other hope would be that the England Ruby team take time out to come and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake in the marquee. www.hertsdirect.org Tel: - 08456 013265You can also contact: www.postwatch.co.uk Write: - FREEPOST POSTWATCHemail:-
