| 1950’s suburbia, as seen through the eyes of the seemingly perfect couple Frank (Leonardo Di Caprio) and April Wheeler (Kate Winslet) but they are not what they first appear to be. There is a subtle restlessness lurking. April convinces Frank to give up the daily commute & just –up sticks & leave with her & the kids for Paris. Where she will obtain work in an embassy as a secretary “ they pay fortunes” and he can take his time & see what he wants to do. Someone should have told them; though they live on Revolutionary road their particular revolution was not going to happen until the next decade. When it was ok to do your own thing in true Ginsberg fashion. So as Frank takes up a new very well paid position in his office in the “big apple” April slowly goes to pieces when she realizes they are not “Parree” bound. Rather they will be Connecticut stuck. Kate Winslet once again is just great, as she explores every emotion of the doomed April. Leonardo also does a good job as the confused Frank. 4 stars |
